Advocacy Campaign Initiative
While we will continue work with Brave New Films to catalyze positive social, economic and policy changes using major future projects under consideration (such as the defense industry, gay rights, and the reclaiming and reframing of democratic ideals), we will also work with other filmmakers to help them use our infrastructure to perform education and outreach with their films. We will expand our Advocacy Campaign Initiative to serve other organizations by strengthening the impact and efficacy of their campaigns with media pieces designed to catalyze their efforts in order to help communities and organizations that have important stories to tell that aren't being heard or need to be reframed. An example of this work is the television piece we did for California Nurses Association after it was attacked as a special interest by Governor Schwarzenegger. In a matter of three days, we put together a powerful commercial that helped the nurses get their message out in order to better represent themselves and the issues at stake for all Californians.

The People Speak: Nurses
A tremendous part of what Brave New Foundation does is to use our film and media talents to strengthen the messages and efforts of our existing and growing list of allies. Thus, we will continue to develop our Initiative and talking points in conjunction with all Brave New Foundation projects in order to offer a much-needed strategic framework to motivate change in policy and/or communities. Our objective is six trainings seminars in which BNF staff will speak at conferences about media activism, how to use film and other media as tools, how to plan and host events, and how to document an organization’s work. Trainings will also include materials such as tool kits for house parties and community meetings. Through collaboration with other organizations we can teach our model and also learn about successes that will help achieve our collective goals.
