WORKERS RIGHTS

Our Supermarket Swindle campaign with the Los Angeles Alliance and Los Angeles for a New Economy alerted the public to the fact that California grocery workers had not received a wage increase in five years, and thousands were without health care. As a result of our online video campaign, thousands voiced their support for the union representing 65,000 store employees and the grocery chains agreed to a settlement, which was welcomed by union members and ended nearly seven months of negotiations.

After Governor Schwarzenegger attacked the California Nurses Association as a "special interest" group, Brave New Foundation put together a powerful commercial -- in a matter of three days -- that helped the nurses get their message out in order to better represent themselves and the issues at stake for all Californians.

IMMIGRANT RIGHTS

More than 20 advocacy organizations worked with us on our Dream Act campaign on immigrant student rights and it inspired strategy conferences with California organizations and student activists. It has been featured in Daily Kos, The Huffington Post, Alternet, Citizen Orange, MyDD, Long Island Wins, among others.
